Early Leaders Drop Points
League Leaders Nobles travelled to the Purt Le Moirrey green where the home side put in a tough performance winning five of the nine games. At one point Nobles were in trouble with Lin Ruscoe 17-5 down to Chris Holland, Paula Firth 16-6 down to Roma Ware and Clare Cooper 12-4 down to Pauline Worrall. Nobles fought back, for the all important chalks, but these Purt Le Moirrey ladies proved too strong. A big win for Rebecca Teare 21-3 helped the Nobles ladies eventually win the match 144-169 (5-4).
South Ramsey improved their 2017 home performance against Champions Port St Mary. This year the winning margin was 24 chalks compared to last years three chalk victory. Big wins on either side as home players Elaine Moore 21-4, Jill Quayle 21-4 and Jenny Moore 21-9. Port St Mary’s Ann Maddrell won 21-6 and Trish Bull 21-9 evened up the scorecard. South Ramsey’s Kim Hargraves was 18-7 down to Jayne Kneen before staging a great comeback to gain vital points for the team before falling at the last hurdle 21-20. The match finished 154-130 (5-4). Port St Mary will hope to overturn that result later in the season when the teams meet in August.
Mooragh Park played their first home game of the season against a strong Castletown outfit. Mooragh Park’s Vicky Lloyd-West was their standout performer preventing a whitewash winning 21-20 against Marie Ashurst. Amanda Lawler and Tracy Moore beat tough opponents Janet Monk and Helen Martin 12 and 16 respectivley. Caroline Parker and Ann Chapman just lost out 19 and 20 in their games with the final match score 128-188 (1-8).
Castletown B who are improving every week faced Peel Sunset at home. Newcomer Jo Robert beat last seasons merit runner up Mary Moffatt 21-15 and Barbara Young beat Cath Parker 21-16. Peel Sunset won five games overall including big wins from Shirley Corrin 21-4 and Lynda Wilson 21-7 giving Peel the victory 145-159 (4-5).
In the final matches played on Friday Ballaugh picked up their second win of the season defeating Douglas 164-135 (6-3). Marown proved too strong at home beating Onchan 181-109 (8-1) with Marilyn Ellison and Wendy McDowell both just losing 21-20.
Looking ahead to next week the Quarter Finals of the Jean Kelly take place on Thursday with Onchan (+45) vs Nobles (+15), Castletown A (scr) vs Mooragh Park (+25) and Purt Le Moirrey (+30) vs Peel Sunset (+25). Port St Mary (scr) vs Port Erin (+15) takes place on Tuesday 22nd May due to a green clash.
Friday sees a full set of night league fixtures with Castletown A sitting out this week.
Singles Figures Separate Top Two
The Trend Sponsored Ladies Over 60s Bowling League entered May with a rush of full houses as three teams turned in a maximum on Tuesday.
Port St Mary B put in a fine performance to win their match against Ballaugh 126-59 (6-0) with Dot Mylchreest, Port St Marys best lady, winning her game 21-5.
Mooragh Park B played their first game on home soil following the work that has been ongoing on their green. Port St Mary A were the visitors and won all six games with the final score 36-126.
Castletown were the final team to record a maximum on Tuesday defeating Villa. Anne Oates 21-2, Barbara Young 21-9 and Marie Ashhurst 21-9 were Castletown’s best winners as they won the match 126-59.
Peel Sunset put a stop to Marown’s unbeaten run defeating them by 11 chalks 108-97 (4-2). Philippa Taylor inflicted Joyce Kelly’s first defeat of the season with a 21-15 victory.
Douglas won the battle but lost the war in their match against Onchan. Douglas won four games including two 21-20 wins from Moire Tuner and Wendy Cowin with their other two wins 21-11 and 21-17. Onchan’s two winners proved to be the difference with Libby Andrade winning 21-8 and Lynda Clarke 21-6. Onchan won the match 98-110 (4-2).
South Ramsey lost at home to Nobles 84-107 (2-4). Elaine Moore and Ann Gale won for the home side. Lin Ruscoe was the best winner for Nobles beating Gillian Jopson 21-9.
In the final game from Tuesday Port Erin faced homegreen rivals Breagle. A strong showing from Port Erin gave them the victory 120-70 (4-2). For Breagle Gwen Tuck and Joyce Henry picked up individual wins.
On Thursday Port St Mary A welcomed South Ramsey and won four of the six games with two scores 21-7 and two 21-8. Elaine Moore beat Margaret Tasker 21-14 and Ann Gale maintained her unbeaten status in the league defeating Wyn Collister 21-12. Port St Mary A won the match 110-72 (6-0).
Peel Sunset closed the gap on rivals Port St Mary to seven points by whitewashing Breagle away form home 53-126 (0-6).
Marown bounced straight back from their defeat earlier in the week with a convincing 108-73 (4-2) win over Castletown. Philippa Taylor and Mary Alderson were in fine form winning their games 21-2, 21-3 respectively.
Port St Mary B made it two wins in the week with an away win against Villa. Margaret Corlett and Pat Kelly won for the home side but with Port St Mary B winning four games, including Mavis Franks 21-9 win, they were too strong and the match finished 91-115 (2-4)
Nobles were visited by Douglas. Paula Firth set the platform for Nobles winning her game 21-1. In the other five games there were good battles with Nobles just edging the games. Douglas player Jan Osborne her 100% record losing 21-20 to Lin Ruscoe.
Ballaugh were beaten at home by Mooragh Park A who won five out of the six games. Mooragh’s best winners were Janet Monk 21-4 and Julie Reilly 21-9 whilst Peggy Griffin made sure there was no whitewash beating Anne Kean 21-18. Final score and a win for Mooragh 84-123 (1-5)
In the final game Onchan put in another fine home performance to beat Port Erin 122-75 (5-1). Marilyn Ellison had the best score for Onchan winning 21-2 whilst Jacqui Elliott for Port Erin prevented a full house winning her game 21-17.
Next week Peel will look to further close the gap to Port St Mary with a home match against Onchan before a tricky away game to Nobles. Port St Mary A are away to Douglas A before playing local rivals Port Erin at home.
Onchan Open Singles
Onchan Open Singles Winner 2018
Maureen PayneOn Wednesday 9th May Onchan hosted their mid-week singles open with 22 ladies taking part.
The eventual winner was homegreener Maureen Payne who beat Port St Mary player Chris Price 21-18 in a nip and tuck final.
In the semi finals Maureen beat Trish Bull 21-20 and Chris beat Margaret Tasker 21-14.
Peel Sunset A Suffer First Defeat
Thursday 3rd October saw the Castletown A side maintain their run to win theTower Insurance Men’s Over 60’s League with a convincing 7-1 home win overBallaugh B with Paul Bradford being the only winner for the Ballaugh side. In the reverse fixture of this the Castletown B side travelled to Ballaugh and were on the receiving end of a similar 7-1 defeat with the only Castletown B winner being Dave Ali.
Marown maintained their good form with an 8-0 defeat of Nobles B while Nobles A defeated the Finch Hill team 7-1 at Nobles Park.
In the picturesque Mooragh Park the North Ramsey A Team beat Port St Mary B 7-1 with the consistent Brian Lowe being the only winner for Port St Mary B. Meanwhile in Port St Mary the North Ramsey B side were beaten 6-2 by the Southerners A Team with the only winners for the men from the Mooragh being Bryan Corner and David Lacey.
At the ‘Villa’ it was Douglas A who beat their own B Team 8-0 while in the sunny North of the Island it was South Ramsey who ran out 5-3 winners over the Port Erin team.
Peel Sunset A travelled to Onchan Park to play Onchan B and went cheerfully back to Peel with a 7-1 victory ‘under their belts’ with Roger Payne being the only winner for Onchan B. The Peel Sunset B Team hosted a strong Onchan A Team and it was the Onchan side that won 5-3.
So as we came to Game 11 on Tuesday 8th May the question was who would be the first to ‘slip up’, would it be League Leaders Castletown A or chasers Peel Sunset A?
Castletown A soon showed that they ‘were not for slipping up’ as they took an 8-0 victory over Nobles B and Peel Sunset A travelled to Ballaugh for a tricky fixture with the Ballaugh A side and it was the Ballaugh men who took the victory 5-3 therefore giving Castletown A a clear lead in the League.
In a tight match at Nobles Park the Nobles A side drew 4-4 with Castletown B while a little further down in Douglas Finch Hill ran out 6-2 winners over Port Erin.
In a an equally close match at the Mooragh Park, North Ramsey A and Douglas A fought out a close battle that resulted in a 4-4 draw while back in Douglas the North Ramsey B side won the match without losing a game.
Peel Sunset B took a 7-1 home win from Balaugh B with Bobby Clayton taking the only win for Ballaugh B while at Onchan Park the Onchan B Team were beaten 6-2 by their A Team.
And finally South Ramsey beat Port St Mary B Team 6-2 with Brian Lowe and Ashley Qualtrough being the winners for Port St Mary B.
So at the conclusion of play on 8th May we see Castletown A still in the lead having played 11 games for 22 points followed by Peel Sunset A with 18 points from 10 games and Marown with 16 points from 9 games and in fourth place Ballaugh A with 16 points from 11 games.
Port Erin Stun Peel
In division one Port Erin A took on Peel A at Breagle Glen on bank holiday Monday with the hosts earning their second win of the season over high flying Peel 6-4. For the Home team Derek Allen, Seamus Whelan and Steve Durcan won whilst Harry Minor took full advantage of his promotion to the A Team to defeat Jerome Surridge 21-20. For the visitors Gary Smith and Stevie Kelly had comfortable wins whilst Tommy McMeiken held on to his 100% record with a 21-17 win over David Cain and Dave ‘Barney’ Kelly got over the line 21-19 against Bernie Durcan.
Port St Mary A took on nearest rivals Onchan A, managed to close the gap following a 7-3 home win. Bernard Thackrah made his second appearance for the A team and overcame Phil Kerruish 21-18, whilst another unbeaten man captain Trevor Quayle inflicted a first league defeat of the season over Matthew Quirk 21-20. Rob Cooil had a good 21-13 win over Kevin Quirk, whilst the other two winners were Ewan Cooil and Paul Skelly both to single figures. For the visitors Jordan Cain and Rob Monk returned the favour with single figure wins and Mike Thomas performed well to beat Wayne Roberts 21-19.
North Ramsey A took on Douglas A in their first home league game of the season and just scraped over the line with a 6-4 win, taking the aggregate by a solitary chalk (143-142). For the home team Jimmy Moffatt, Steve Parker, Steve Walmsley and Allan Callow all won, with Gary Merrill losing out 19-21 against Merv Sayle and Geoff Porter losing 20-21 against Ian Moore. Andy Kennish and Keith Rise were the other winners for the visitors.
South Ramsey B also recorded a 6-4 home win over Marown B, this was their first victory of the season, but they would have been hoping it could have been more with Austin Hart just missing on his first league win of the season 20-21 against Steve Bridson, however this should give the top flights youngest player some encouragement to build on for the rest of the season. Steven Waters also lost out 19-21 to John Kelly. The home team winners were Sid Bolton, Tony Dugdale, along with Ben Dugdale and James Teare who both won to single figures. The other winners for the visitors were captain Harry Barton and Peter Kelly.
Marown A returned to winning ways with a 10-0 home win over Castletown A with three of their players Neil Withers, Matthew Keggen and Dean Kipling all winning to single figures. The result helped lift the Crosby men back into second place five points ahead of Peel A and five points behind South Ramsey A.
South Ramsey A took on Douglas B at the Villa Marina, they also matched Marown’s result with a 10-0 win to build on last week’s win over Marown. Peter Collister, John Kennish and Dido Kelly all won to single figures, whilst David Bradford had to battle to overcome Douglas captain Andy Cannell 21-18. Alan Moore got over the line 21-19 after being a few behind against Graham Moore, visiting captain Glynn Hargraves also had a game on his hands at 13-13 with Gordon Wynne-Smythe before running out to win 21-13.
In division two Noble’s A continued their strong start to the season and came away from their short visit to take on Onchan B with a 7-3 win. David Pease kept up his 100% record, backed up by Steve Cook, Glenn Boland and Tommy Collister. Kevin Firth won to single figures. For the home team the winners were Mike Alexander, Peter Karran and Edward Carlyle.
Castletown B kept up the pressure on Noble’s A by matching their result defeating North Ramsey B 7-3. However this may be seen as points dropped against a side second from bottom. Dave Faragher maintained his winning run, whilst Mark Saunders had a superb 21-1 win, with Derek Lewney, Alan Phair and Ross Moore also winning. For the visitors Bryan Corner, Brian Colquitt and Lee Christian all had comfortable wins.
Result of the week came from Port St Mary B who came away from Finch Hill A with a superb 8-2 victory, despite having to give a game away as they were a player short. For the home team Billy Long was the Finch Hill man who got the walkover and Paul Dougherty beat Ray Maddrell 21-15.
Noble’s B beat Port St Mary C 6-4, unfortunately Port St Mary gave away three games due to being short of players. It is only a few years ago that the club had a D Team playing in the league. Being short on players didn’t affect the teams efforts, as Derek Cain who has recently took up the game will have been delighted to record his first ever league win defeating Stephen Hampson 21-17. The other winners for the visitors were Ken Karran, Colin Leece and Mike Ware.
Peel B recorded a good 9-1 home win over bottom of the table Port Erin B with Michael Kavanagh and Mike Ashmole having two massive wins to 21-1 and 21-2 respectively. Sparing the visitors blushes was Ben Mowle who beat Peter Greenlees 21-16.
Peel C hosted Ballaugh A on Tuesday evening with the home team losing out 3-7 and losing out on the aggregate by just nine chalks. For Peel Robert Middleton inflicted a first league defeat of the season over John ‘Shirt’ Keenan, with Jeff Wilson and Kevin Mort also winning. For the visiting team Richard Fisher and Gordie Moore had to work hard for their victories to 21-18 and 21-20 respectively.
In division three Marown C took on Peel D at Crosby winning 8-2 to stay top. The home team had Carey Dewhirst, Darren Kerruish and Walter McCarthy recording big wins. The two winners for Peel were John Lightfoot and Bert Quayle.
Ballaugh B came away from their visit to Finch Hill B with a 7-3 win to keep the pressure up at the top, whilst Castletown C hosted Onchan C at The Crofts recording a 7-3 win with five of their players winning to single figures. For Onchan Brian Woodall had a single figure victory, whilst Bernard Galka and Mike Kelly worked hard to record wins to 21-18 and 21-20 to ensure a heavier defeat was avoided.
In the bottom of the table battle South Ramsey D visited Douglas D and came away with an outstanding 9-1 win with Ryan Surridge picking up his first league victory taking a 21-8 win, whilst Ryan Hargraves got the better of James Teare 21-18 to also pick up his first league win of the season. For the visitors Richard Davies and Franz Ten Donkelaar otherwise known as ‘Fonzie’ both had single figure wins.
Ballaugh C hosted Douglas C with the Home team picking up a 7-3 home win. In what was a good week for new and young players Patrick Grant held his nerve to win 21-20 over William Cowley. Peter Corlett and Maurice O’Reilly both won to single figures. The winners for the visiting team were captain Andy Foster, Keith Fearnley and Mike Cain.

Silvia Cashen Winners 2018
Ange Maddrell-Reeve & Chris PricePort St Mary Bowling Club hosted the Silvia Cashen Ladies Open Doubles on Wednesday 2nd May.
There were 19 pairs entered in this charity event and a total of £357 was raised with monies donated to the Breast Cancer Unit at Nobles Hospital.
The eventual winners were Ange Maddrell Reeve and Chris Price, who beat Elaine Moore and Rita Callister 21-15, in the final.
Losing in the Quarter finals were Margaret Tasker & Trisha Bull, Jenny Moore & Kim Hargraves, Lin Ruscoe & Lil Smith, Mary Alderson & Lynda Cadamy.
In the semi final Chris and Ange beat Philippa Taylor and Joyce Ogden 21-16 and Elaine & Rita beat Ann Maddrell & Katy Williams 21-16.
At the conclusion of the final Ann Maddrell presented the trophy and Chris and Ange thanked everyone involved in running the competition and for the money raised.
Kennish Continues Good Form
Henry Kissack Memorial Winner 2018
John KennishMarown Bowling Club held the Henry Kissack Memorial Trophy on Saturday with a good entry of 40 taking part.
The winner was South Ramsey’s John Kennish who continued his fine form ahead of the Manx Championship to be held at Port St Mary on the weekend of 19th May. Kennish was superb throughout with no player scoring more than 13 against him. The final had Kennish taking on Peel favourite Dave ‘Barney’ Kelly who reached his second final of the season. Kennish made a quick start taking a 14-6 lead before Kelly responded with four singles in a row. Kennish got back in to go 16-10 up and played a good lead bowl only for Barney to play one next to the block. Kennish changed his peg and played Barney’s bowl out cleanly to make two and go 18-10 ahead. From there Kennish managed to see the game out taking a 21-11 win.
Losing semi finalists were Jordan Cain (Onchan) who lost out 12-21 after leading 12-8 over Kennish, along with Nathan Hamilton (Port St Mary) who did well to reach his first singles semi final before losing out 16-21 to Kelly.
Falling at the quarter final stage were home greeners Harry Barton and Dean Kipling, Mike Hargraves (Castletown) and Glynn Hargraves (South Ramsey).
At the conclusion of play Marown competition secretary Phil Kelly thanked everyone who took part, those who helped throughout the day and the ladies for the refreshments. The presentation was made by club stalwart Ian Kissack who thanked Phil for running the competition.
South Ramsey Stun Marown
In division one South Ramsey A took on league leaders Marown A with the reigning champions using their home advantage on a tricky green to record a tremendous 9-1 win over the Crosby men, who I cannot recall ever suffering such a heavy defeat in my 25 years of league bowls. For the Home team John Kennish defeated Paul Kelly 21-11, with David Bradford, Glynn Hargraves and Peter Collister not far behind winning to 12, 14 and 15 over John Gelling, Paul Dunn and Neil Withers respectively. In the second half of the match Dido Kelly and Chas Grills won to single figures over Matthew Keggen and Phil Kelly, whilst Stefan Kelly defeated Dean Kipling 21-15. Marown’s only winner was Colin Kelly who performed well to hold off Alan Moore winning 21-18. The Marown men can take comfort from South Ramsey suffering a 9-1 defeat at Crosby in 2016, however South Ramsey still went on to take the title that season, Marown will be looking to repeat this result later in the season to square things up.
Peel A took full advantage of the top of the table clash to leapfrog Marown A recording a 10-0 win in the sunset city over South Ramsey B with David Proctor, Jerome Surridge, Tom Kelly and Dave Kelly all winning to single figures. Tony Dugdale was the highest scorer for the visitors, however Frank Watson managed to win 21-17.
Marown B finally got their season up and running with a 7-3 home win over visitors North Ramsey A with Harry Barton, Peter Kelly, Steve Bridson, Brian Kelly and Juan Killip winning for the Home team. The winners for North Ramsey were Steve Walmsley, Gary Merrill and Allan Callow.
Douglas A took on Port St Mary A with the Villa men winning 6-4. For the Home team Andy Kennish, Merv Sayle, Keith Rise and Jimmy Sansom all won, whilst for the visitors Ewan Cooil, Trevor Quayle, Steve Franks and Wayne Roberts were the winners. Wayne’s 21-20 victory was all the more impressive given he was 6-20 down before recording 15 consecutive points to run out on his opponent. This goes to show that a game is never over and is one of the biggest comebacks I can recall.
Onchan A had a good 9-1 win over Douglas B, just missing out on a whitewash with Pat O’Donohue winning 21-18 over Steve Crampton. For the home team Matthew Quirk, Phil Kerruish and Rob Monk all won to single figures, whilst Mark Kelly had to work hard to hold off Andy Cannell to record a 21-18 win.
Port Erin A made the short trip to the ancient capital of Mann to take on Castletown A, coming away with a 3-7 defeat. For the visitors Dave McCabe, Peter Addision and Bernie Durcan won, whilst for the home team Ian Watson, Mike Hargraves, George Peach, Peter Oates and Jeff Kinley all won.
In division two Nobles A stunned high flying Castletown B to record an 8-2 home win to overtake the Castletown men at the top. For the visitors the winners were Dave Faragher and George Foy, whilst the home team winners were Reginald Temporaza, Bod Boland, Glenn Boland, Steve Cook, Tommy Collister and Dave Pease.
Ballaugh A recorded an 8-2 home win over Onchan B with Peter Wallis and Bernie McPhee the only winners for the visitors.
Bottom of the table Port Erin B will have had their spirits lifted considerably following a 7-3 home win over Peel C to close the gap on the teams above them, whilst Port St Mary B had a good 8-2 home win over Peel B. Finch Hill A also had an 8-2 win away to Port St Mary C. Nobles B won 7-3 at home to North Ramsey B.
In division three Marown C stayed top following their 8-2 away win over South Ramsey D with Jamie Joughin and Walter McCarthy winning to single figures. The winners for the home team were Ian Moore and Richie Davies.
Ballaugh B kept up the pressure on Marown C with an 8-2 home win over South Ramsey C. For the Home team Philip Quayle and Percy Faragher won to single figures, with Paul Routledge and David Corkill the winners for the visitors. The Ballaugh men have a game in hand on Marown C and will be looking to return to the top of the table once Marown take their turn to sit out later on in the season.
Ballaugh C came away from their short journey along the West coast to take on Peel D with a 7-3 victory taking the extra two points by only three chalks with Steve Tate losing out 20-21 and junior Ryan Tate losing out 19-21.
Castletown C came away from the Villa with a 6-4 win over Douglas C, whilst Onchan C had a 7-3 home win over Finch Hill B, however only eight chalks separated the teams.
A Double Win For Nobles
Nobles Ladies Doubles Winners 2018
Clare Cooper & Rebecca TeareOn Sunday 29th April, a surprisingly sunny and warm spring day, Nobles Bowling Club hosted the Cu-Plas Callow pairs competitions, with 19 ladies pairs and 23 mens pairs taking part.
There was some extremely good bowling on both greens all afternoon, on number one it was the South Ramsey sisters Shelley and Bethany Kennish taking on the home greeners Rebecca Teare and Clare Cooper in the first semi-final, with two time winners Jenny Moore and Fiona Kennish taking on Chris Price and Jan West in the other semi-final. Both Rebecca and Clare, and Jenny and Fiona started well, with some strong ends, to secure their places in the final.
In the final Jenny and Fiona started very strong, having the home greeners worried with a huge lead of 12-3. Once Rebecca and Clare settled into the game they fought back well to take the trophy with a 21-15 win.
In the Mens competition on number two it was the father and son pairing of Bod and Glenn Boland who contested the final against Sid Bolton and Mike Hargraves. It was another victory for a Nobles pair, with Bod and Glenn beating Sid and Mike to 21-13.
The losing semi-finalists in the Mens competition were Les Brookes and Reg Temporaza and Alec Taylor and Derek Allen.

Marown Maintain 100% Start
In the Trend sponsored Over 60s League on Tuesday Peel Sunset were two points from a maximum beating Ballaugh 124-64 (5-1). Mary Moffatt 21-5 and Pat Robertson 21-9 were Peels best performers whilst Brenda Bowyer prevented the whitewash by beating Lynda Wilson 21-19.
Port Erin took on Villa with home greener Carol Kaye using all her knowledge and experience winning 21-1. Teammates Jean Thackrah 21-8 and Jacqui Elliott 21-7 also won well however, Port Erin were pegged back in two games as Pat Kelly and Muriel Cain won for the visitors restricting Port Erin’s win to 108-74 (4-2).
Port St Mary welcomed Nobles and the visitors would have been pleased to win three games as Sylvia Kennuagh 21-15, Viv Cook 21-12 and Joyce Ogden 21-15 all won for the away team. The difference on the final result is Port St Marys strength as their winners won 14, 6 and 2 with Val Macfarlane and Margaret Tasker winning to single figures. The final result was a home win 105-85 (3-3).
Marown made the short Journey to face Douglas and remained the only unbeaten side in the league winning the match 67-110 (1-5). Mary Alderson won 21-5 for the away team and Jan Osborne prevented the home side losing to a maximum by winning 21-5.
In the remaining games on Tuesday South Ramsey beat Breagle 111-72 (4-2), Castletown defeated Mooragh Park A 108-86 (5-1) and Mooragh Park B lost 61-105 (1-5) to Onchan.
As Thursday’s matches kicked off Port St Mary who sit out this round of matches would have been keeping a close eye on Peel’s result to see how much advantage they would keep at the top of the league.
Peel Sunset closed the gap to five points after collecting their second maximum of the season away to Villa. Joyce Kelly won 21-1 to remain undefeated this season and the final score was 85-126 (0-6)
Marown who sit in third position hosted Port Erin. Fine individual performances from Ceila Joughin and Mary Alderson setup the win with the home side keeping their 100% record the final score being 120-81 (4-2).
Onchan performed well at home defeating South Ramsey 108-89 (4-2) with standout home performances from Maureen Payne and Dee Lewis. Elaine Moore and Ann Gale won for the away side.
In other matches played on Thursday Breagle lost at home to Douglas 78-109 (2-4). Mooragh Park A were defeated by Port St Mary B 91-98 (2-4). Nobles beat Mooragh Park B 122-53 (5-1) and Castletown won away at Balalugh 80-106 (2-4).
After round 7 Port St Mary sit at the top averaging 113.83 however, Peel Sunset are right on their tails averaging 113. Marown sit third with Nobles fourth.
Looking ahead Mooragh Park A & B will now move back to their home green. Round 8 see’s Peel and Marown go head-to-head.
