SECOND MAXIMUM OF THE SEASON FOR PORT
Last Friday saw the second maximum of the season in the ladies open age league when Port St Mary beat their neighbours, Port Erin 189 to 66 with six of Port St Mary players winning to single figures.
The local derby between Mooragh Park and South Ramsey ended with South winning 6-3 and by 51 points. Aalish Haworth and Caroline Parker (Mooragh) had tough battles against Lauren Groen and Sue Collier with Aalish and Caroline eventually winning to 18 and 19 respectively. On Tuesday night, South Ramsey travelled to Castletown A for their rearranged game. Heike Perry, Tracy Moore and Hilary Kermode (Castletown) plus Jenny Moore and Fiona Kennish (South) all won their games to single figures.
Ladies Over 60’s
Marown were the only team to score a maximum on Tuesday in the Over 60’s league against Mooragh Park B. Best score for Mooragh was Anne Kean who lost to 11. Castletown A played Port St Mary B at home. The only winner for Port was Wyn Collister who won to 13 against Anne Oates.

LADIES ASSOCIATION TRIPLES: On Sunday 27th June, 13 pairs entered the Ladies Association Triples competition held at Ballaugh. The weather was perfect for an excellent afternoon of bowling.
Getting through to the semi-finals were Gill Morgan, Sonya Mercer and Maureen Lacey against Elaine Moore, Gill Dixon and Elaine Fenton, with Jenny Moore, Fiona Kennish and Kim Hargraves playing Joyce Ogden, Philippa Taylor and Lynda Cadamy. In the first semi the trio of Moore, Dixon and Fenton won 21-6, with Moore, Kennish and Hargraves winning 21-18. In the final it was nip and tuck at the start, but then Moore, Kennish and Hargraves started to pull away eventually winning 21-15.
The Presentation was made by the Ladies Association President Sue Gawne. On behalf of Jenny, Kim and herself, Fiona thanked all their opponents, the Ladies competition committee for a well organised afternoon and Ballaugh for hosting.
