LADIES OVER 60s LEAGUE

OVER 60s LEAGUE  : Last Wednesday morning, remaining match from fixture 22 was played between Breagle Glen C at home to a two player short Finch Hill.  Breagle took the honours 4-2  (107-75) with Finch’s Sue Caley being the only player to win to single figures.  The other winner for Finch was Angela Crellin who won to 16 against Susan Bigg.   Remaining match from fixture 21 was played last Thursday morning between Castletown B at home to Mooragh Park A.  Unfortunately for the Castletown ladies, the Mooragh ladies were on exceptional form winning 6-0 (126-74)  with Lynn Mayers and Janet Monk winning to single figures.   Highest scoring game resulted in a 21-17 win for Chris Sims against Elaine McElroy.

On Tuesday morning, Ballaugh A made the short distance to Mooragh Park B coming away with a full house (126-39) with five of their wins being won to single figures.  Highest scorer for Mooragh was Irene Cannon who scored 12 against Barbara Graham.  Home derby between Castletown B & A resulted in a 4-2 win for the A team (117-84) with Hilary Kermode for the  A ladies being the only player to win to single figures.  Two winners for the B team were Marie Ashurst who won to 17 against Kath Kinley and Elaine McElroy who won to 16 against Anne Oates.  Peel ladies won 5-1, dropping only 3 points (123-90) away to Breagle Glen B.  Val Allwood for the visitors was the only player to win to single figures with the closest game being a 21-20 win for Shirley Corrin against Pauline Worrall. Sole winner for Breagle was Jean Thackrah who won 21-18 against Karen Moss.  South Ramsey A hosted Breagle Glen A.  Match finished three all but Breagle took the honours on points (97-87) with Margie Tasker and Mavis Franks for Breagle plus South’s Judy Kelly winning their games to single figures.  Closest game of the match was a 21-14 win for Trish Bull against home greener Jill Quayle.  Finch Hill were home to Mooragh Park A – match finishing three all but Mooragh won on points (113-97) with Janet Monk for the away team being the only player to win to single figures.  Closest games resulted in 21-19 wins for Finch’s Iris Kermode against Chris Sims and Karen McGurgan for Mooragh against Anne Hon.  Marown hosted South Ramsey B winning the match 4-2 (115-85) with Rosie Winckle for Marown winning her game to single figures. Two winners for South were Ann Gale who won to 16 against Lynda Cadamy and Julie Stephens who won to 15 against Sue Hammond.  Nobles won 4-2 at  home against Onchan dropping only five points (121-89).  Paula Firth for Nobles was the only player to win to single figures.  Two winners for Onchan were Kay McKiernan who won to17 against Caroline Corlett and Maureen Payne who just pipped Sylvia Kennaugh 21-20.  Ballaugh B won 4-2 at home against a one player short Breagle Glen C (100-85) with Wyn Collister for Breagle and Brenda Clayton for Ballaugh winning their games to single figures.  Closest game was a 21-20 win for Ann Kinvig against Breagle’s Betsy Skelding.  Other winner for Breagle was Steph Swift who won to 13 against Liz Faragher.
