Quarter finals (handicaps in brackets) : Last Wednesday evening only one quarter-final was played with the remaining three being played on the following evening. This match was between Ballaugh A (+45) away to Breagle Glen B (+54) winning 5-4 and on points 210-185, with three of the Ballaugh ladies winning to single figures. Closest game of the match saw Breagle’s Pauline Worrall just pip Rose Waterworth 21-19. Thursday evening, reigning holders Castletown ‘A’ (+13) travelled north to South Ramsey (+18). South put in a strong home performance winning the match 7-2 and by forty points192-152, with Jenny Moore for the south ladies and Amanda Lawler for the visitors both winning their games to single figures. Closest game of the match was a 21-20 win for Town’s Stella Watterson against Gill Dixon. Marown A (+24) travelled south to Breagle Glen A (+31) coming away with a solid 7-2 win and by fifteen points, 200-185. Roz Cannon for Breagle and Crosby’s Jayne Smith both won to single figures with Katy Williams for the southern ladies and Lyn Bolton for Marown both crossing the line 21-20 against Clare Cooper and Nicola Cain. Douglas (+47) were at home against Marown B (+60) with the home side winning 5-4, 213-192 with four of the games being won to single figures. Closest game resulted in a 21-20 win for Marown’s Grace Cooper against Pauline Cowley.
