Firth & Gawne win Ballapaws Trophy
Peel Sunset Bowling Club hosted the open lady’s doubles competition, The Ballapaws Trophy on Saturday 29th July.
There were 14 pairs entered. The winners of the competition were Paula Firth and Sue Gawne who had convincing wins through to the final when Philippa Taylor and Joyce Ogden did their utmost to stop them in their tracks the final ending in a score of 21-18. The losing semi-finalists were Cath Parker and Val Allwood and Jenny Moore and Kim Hargraves. It was extremely pleasing to see a number of juniors entering, they were a credit to Douglas BC.
