The inaugural Port Erin Men’s Singles competition was held on Saturday. The green was somewhat heavy to start with having been well watered on Friday but, by the time 30 entrants had trampled all over it in the blazing sunshine, the green improved through the afternoon.
One person who mastered these changing conditions was Trevor Quayle (Port St Mary) beating home greener Ken Horsley 21-13 in the final.
The losing semi-finalists were Paul Quirk (Peel) and Tom Kelly (Peel).
