LADIES OPEN AGE LEAGUE
Last Friday evening, 10 July, Ballaugh A were on excellent form scoring a full house at home to Breagle Glen B (189-94) with Rose Waterworth and Karen Young winning to single figures. Jean Thackrah for the visitors, couldn’t quite get to the finish line losing to 16 against Yvonne Ward. Another sound performance was by South Ramsey who won 8-1 away to Douglas (182-114) with Jenny Moore and Lauren Groen for South winning to single figures. Sole winner for Douglas was Pauline Cowley who won to 14 against Gillian Jopson. Home derby between Castletown A & B resulted in an 8-1 win for the A ladies (177-108) with Hilary Kermode and Kellie Maddrell plus the B team’s sole winner, Marie Ashurst, winning to single figures. Elaine McElroy just missed out on another win for the B team losing to 20 against Alison Kearsley. Breagle Glen A won 6-3 at home against Nobles (165-134) with Trish Bull, Katy Williams and Roz Cannon for the Breagle ladies winning to single figures. Three winners for Douglas were Dee Lewis who won to 13; Tina Hampson who won to 14, and Colese Creer who won to 12. On Monday evening, Marown were on fine home form scoring a full house against Ballaugh B with six of the Crosby ladies winning to single figures. Elaine Fenton nearly prevented a whitewash when she lost to 18 against Lyn Bolton. Match between Peel and Mooragh Park has been rescheduled for Thursday 30 July.
