LADIES OVER 60s LEAGUE

Remaining match from fixture 13 was played last Wednesday morning which saw South Ramsey B put in a solid away performance against Breagle Glen C winning 4-2 (110-85).  South’s Sue Collier and Jackie Murley plus Wyn Collister for the home team all won to single figures.  Two tough games resulted in 21-20 wins for Breagle’s Elaine MacFarlane against Lesley Murray and South’s Julie Stephens against Steph Swift.  The following morning fixture 14 took place which saw the Nobles ladies convincingly win 6-0 (126-60) away to Ballaugh B with three of their ladies winning to single figures.  Just missing out on a win for the home team was Gill Clarke who lost to 20 against Jo Smith.  Finch Hill had a good 5-1 home win (119-59) against a one player short Mooragh Park B with Iris Kermode and Sue Caley for Finch winning to single figures.  Stopping a full house was Lynda Brew who won to 14 against Angela Crellin.  Another 5-1 home win was achieved by Breagle Glen A against South Ramsey B (118-69) with three players from the home side winning to single figures. Jackie Murley for the visitors stopped the whitewash by winning 21-13 against Jenny Cain.  Castletown A were also on form winning 4-2 (119-89) away to Onchan with Hilary Kermode for the Town ladies being the only player to win to single figures. Two winners for Onchan were Kay McKiernan who, after a hard fought game with Anne Oates, eventually won 21-20 and Jane Lothian who won to 15 against  Barbara Young.  Another solid 5-1 win was by Marown away to Castletown B (121-89) with Lynda Cadamy for the Crosby ladies winning to single figures.  Two winners for Castletown were Susan Kerruish who just edged Gill Christian 21-20 and Linda Dobinson who won to 17 against Celia Joughin.  South Ramsey A won 4-2 (110-80) at home to Breagle Glen B with Gillian Jopson and Elaine Moore winning to single figures for the home side.  Two winners for Breagle were Voirrey Curphey who won to 10 against Lorraine Moore and Alison Stockham to 16 against Anne Buck.  Peel Sunset made their way to Mooragh Park A and although Peel won the match 4-2, they lost on points (92-109) due mainly in part to the two winners for Mooragh, Janet Monk and Karen McGurgan, winning to low single figures.  Two close games saw Peel ladies Mary Moffatt and Terry Berry win to 20 and 19 against Pat Lenton and Diane Robinson.  On the Friday morning Ballaugh A were on resounding form winning 5-1 (118-69) away to Breagle Glen C with Rose Waterworth and Caroline Parker winning to single figures for the visitors. Lone winner for Breagle was Gwen Tuck who won to 13 against Michele Cubbon.
