CASTLETOWN ‘A’ LEAPFROG TO THE TOP OF THE OPEN AGE LEAGUE

Open Age League :  On Friday evening, Castletown A having lost 7-2 to South Ramsey in the Jean Kelly Knockout the previous evening, returned the favour when they played South at home winning by the same scoreline 7-2 (177-149).  Jenny Saunders for the Town ladies was the only player to win to single figures with Gill Dixon and Kim Hargraves just missing out making the scoreline 5-4 when they both lost 21-20 to Amanda Lawler and Tracy Moore. The home derby between Marown A&B saw the A team in fine form scoring a full house (189-114) with  Philippa Taylor and Lyn Bolton being the only players to win to single figures.  Charlotte Clarke and Grace Cooper just missed out on wins for the B team when they lost to 17 and 18 against Rebekah Kelly and Helen Withers.  Peel ladies put in a good home performance against a player short Breagle Glen B winning the match 7-2 (179-84) with four of their ladies winning to single figures.  Two winners for Breagle were Anita Roberts who won to 16 against Diane Flemming and Voirrey Curphey who won to 16 against Jo Corkill.    Ballaugh B were home to Douglas winning 5-4 (167-160) in a well contested match.  All games went into double figures with the two closest games seeing Cody Smith and Emma Sayle for Douglas both winning 21-20 against Natalie Cubbon and Charlotte Neeson.  Mooragh Park had an impressive 7-2 away win at Nobles Park dropping only nine points (180-89) with five of Mooragh’s wins being won to single figures.  Two winners for Nobles were Jo Smith who won 21-16 against Bailey McMullan and Colese Creer who won 21-17 against Joy Morris.  Breagle Glen  A won 6-3 (164-131) at home against Castletown B with Kay Williams and Alison Stockham for the southern team and Aalish Moore for the Town ladies winning their games to single figures.  Closest game of the match resulted in a 21-20 win for Town’s Susan Kerruish against Jacqui Elliott.
