Dunn Wins Cumbrian Competition

Marown captain Paul Dunn travelled off island to compete in the Talbot competition at Layton Institute in Blackpool on Friday reaching the quarterfinals, then went on to play in the latter stages of the Autumn Waterloo at Fleetwood Bowling Club on Saturday having got through the initial qualifying day earlier in the season.

Mixed Team Competitions

A new format got underway for the Mixed Team last week with the competition committee taking on feedback from other competitions, this being an extension of the final’s night which for the past few years has had the Championship and Plate Finals played at the same time which has boosted the number of spectators around the green.

STELLA WINS PRE FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER OPEN

A total of 39 ladies entered the pre-Festival September Open at a blustery Castletown green and after some brilliant bowling throughout the day from all ladies it was Stella Watterson from the home club who held off a late surge from South Ramsey’s Kim Hargraves in the final to triumph 21-12.
